Vice President of Human Resources, AMLI Residential
Martha Arteaga is the Vice President of Human Resources at AMLI Residential, a private real estate development, management and investment company owned by PRIME Property Fund and managed by Morgan Stanley. In her role, Martha oversees employee relations for the company as well as is the main contact for California employment law requirements/compliance.  She manages Talent Acquisition as well as HRIS for the organization. She engages in a value-added, consultative relationship with senior leadership and managers for problem-solving, proactive communications, change management and targeted solution development and delivery. She provides management training in various areas including Employment Law, Harassment Awareness, Coaching and Counseling, Labor Relations and Performance Management Process. Her passion in self-development and helping others grow to their highest potential was key in implementing the first ever Chicago Corporate Mentor Program at her company and subsequently added a “subject matter” database to enhance the mentoring program.

Martha’s experience includes Banking, Real Estate and law. Prior to AMLI, she was employed with Bank Leumi, a global company as Paralegal and worked as a Legal Assistant for the Law offices of Sara Howard. Martha graduated with a BA from University of Illinois where she majored in Criminal Justice and Philosophy. She received her Paralegal Degree from Roosevelt University. She is also certified as a Professional, Human Resources (PHR) and completed the Mujeres de HACE Leadership Program in 2010. Martha is an active member of the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM) as well as the National Multihousing HR Forum (NMHC).

Martha served as the Chair of Professional Development for the Mujeres de HACE advisory board for 3 years and has been on the National Board of Directors since 2015.  Her work with the board as well as with HACE in general has been focused on helping other Latinas succeed to their full potential.  Being the first Latina VP at her company, her mission is to share her experiences and challenges to help other Latinas advance in similar situations.  Martha’s volunteer efforts and career advancement were recognized when she received the Emerging Leader award in 2015.  Most recently her work has included being a public speaker for leadership summits, conferences and events in topics ranging from successful talent acquisition strategies, workforce challenges, emotional intelligence and leadership development.  She has also co-hosted on Un Nuevo Amanecer which airs Telemundo covering innovative and current topics.  When Martha is not working, she enjoys spending time with her family, running, and traveling.
