Ana Laura was born in Michoacan, Mexico. She immigrated to the United States with her family at the age of eight. In 2006, she graduated with honors from Northeastern Illinois University with a bachelor’s degree in Justice Studies. She went on to attend Southern Illinois University School of Law. At SIU, she reactivated the school’s chapter of the Hispanic Law Students Association, serving first as Vice President and then as President.
She also served as the Associate Chief Justice of the Moot Court Board during the 2015-2016 academic year and received the Women’s Bar Foundation Scholarship in 2015. In November 2016, she was licensed to practice law in Illinois. Currently, she is working at Kroll Ontrack in the west loop as a Document Review Attorney.
