WE ARE HACE – Karla A. Vazquez

After completing the program in the Spring of 2016, I received a promotion effectiveNovember 1st. The promotion is for Trust Officer. I officially have a title here at Northern Trust! I honestly feel like Mujeres de HACE helped me with this. Sitting with Marlene and making a plan for my career gave me the clarity and guidance I needed to get to this point. Also simply being involved in the program gave management confirmation that I am seriously committed to advancing my career here at Northern.

I was not expecting the promotion this soon, I was told that I would need to be in my current role for at least two years before I would be considered for it. I came to Northern back in October 8, 2014 and was quickly promoted from Junior to Senior Representative on July 16th, 2015. Now on November 1st I’ll be officially a Trust Officer. I couldn’t be more excited about this. This only confirms my desire to keep moving up.

I had a vision and Mujeres de HACE helped me make it a reality.

All the time I have lived in this country since I was 12, everyone around me has been either looking at me in disbelief or just plain telling me that I can’t do what I want to do no matter what it was. Mujeres de HACE is the first to EVER tell me I cannot only do what I want but that I should do whatever I want to do and how I can go about doing it. Thank you!
