Alvaro Bonta

Alvaro Bonta began his 25 year career with McDonald‘s as crew with McDonald’s Uruguay. He rose through the ranks within the restaurant from a crew person to Store Manager, and in 1997 became an Operations Supervisor. Bonta then assumed the role of Training Consultant and the National Head of Training for McDonald’s Uruguay. During his time in Training he provided strategic guidance on people development, co-wrote and deployed new global curriculum as well as training tools and system standardizations. He also acted as training liaison for McDonald’s in many Latin-American countries.

Bonta moved to the United States in 2002, working at Oak Brook based Hamburger University delivering leadership development classes for Managers and Directors locally and through training centers around the world.

Bonta in his current role of Vice President of Quality, Service, and Cleanliness for McDonald’sGreater Chicago Region is responsible for regional Franchising, Operations, Field Service,Deployment, and training for more than 750 restaurants. Bonta is passionate about people development, and always had an active role in diversity groups within McDonald’s.

Bonta attended school at the Facultad de Ingenieria de Uruguay with a focus on software and hardware engineering.He is fluent in Spanish, French, and English with a solid understanding of Portuguese and Italian.
