Program Manager
A leader in events and people management with a desire to drive change and empower minorities in all spaces. In 2005 she discovered her passion for events and tradeshows and developed leadership and management skills owning all aspects from vision, strategy, marketing, operations, and relationship management. Her event management career includes Business 2 Business and diversity & inclusion events with attendance ranging from hundreds to 10,000 professionals and students, and more than 400 exhibiting companies and sponsors. Bernice completed her B.A. in Organizational Leadership with a concentration in Marketing from Benedictine University in 2022. Her creativity is on display turning vision into results, while empowering all around her to embrace their strengths and build their talent.
In 2018 she was invited to a LULAC Green Card Veterans council meeting where she found a community that needed a voice. She now serves as Co-Vice President for the council where her leadership and project management experience help the mission. She is actively involved in advocating for our veterans who have been exiled through deportation. As a civilian, she was unaware of the issues that existed within the veteran community, which is also our community.
She is the daughter of Mexican immigrants and a first-generation college student for her family. Her personal and professional experiences have provided opportunities to hear the stories of others and learn from them. She believes having awareness and empathy are necessary in our interactions with one another.
Her personal mantra and attitude towards life is Peace, Love, and Empowerment.
