Director of Leadership Programs

PROGRAMS SUMMARY

  • HACE’s El Futuro is a career development program for high schools students that is aimed toward helping them achieve better college entrance and completion rates by improving their prospects for fulfilling careers.
  • HACE’s University Program offers student access to our large network of employer partners and professional members by providing insight, access, and professional development opportunities.
  • The HACE Mujeres de HACE program is a women’s program geared to empower high-potential Latina professionals to succeed professionally and thrive personally while providing insight, access, and professional development.
  • The HACE Emerging Latino Leaders Program (formerly the Leadership Academy) is a dynamic and intensive Action Learning Experience that will transform high-potential Latino professionals into high-performing leaders, by developing the skills necessary to promote immediate and sustainable results for themselves and organizations they serve.
  • The HACE Multicultural Leaders Program is designed for professionals of color to build self-awareness of cultural values and the unique challenged faced in the workplace to master leading diverse teams and build a dedicated support network across communities; all while transforming high-potential professionals to high-performing leaders.
  • The HACE Advanced Leadership Program drives the transformation for executive leaders within the context of inclusive leadership best practice. This cohort-based, learning experience provides leaders the skillsets, resources, and community to build organizational cultures that thrive on diversity.
  • HACE’s inaugural career coaching program is intended to serve working professionals who seek additional professional development through various executive and career coaching disciplines.
  • The HACE Professional Development Workshops focus on developing, upskilling and reskilling according to client needs and organizational alignment. These workshops occur throughout the calendar year with topics that range from Effective Communication to Inclusive Leadership.

POSITION HIGHLIGHTS

The Director of Leadership Programs will grow and strengthen HACE’s national network through oversight on program delivery, program enhancements and partnership development, and handling the day-to-day aspects of our Leadership programs program. The Director of Programs will report to Vice President of Leadership Programs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Overall Program Delivery

  • Oversee and lead all program logistics (e.g., venue and speaker identification, speaker prep, communication and outreach to program participants), program events (kick-off and graduation receptions, etc.) and program implementation (in-person and virtual).
  • Supervise and oversee the work of 1-2 direct staff reports, and 10-25 program consultants and speakers, ensuring successful program delivery and experience for participants.

    Program Evaluation, Design & Development

    • Lead program content development, curriculum design and agenda setting to ensure we are continually iterating our programming to create maximum impact and value for participants.
    • Work with leadership programs corporate partners to ensure engagement and smooth delivery of program and relevant events, via conference calls, meetings, events, etc.
    • Analyze and report qualitative and quantitative feedback from participants to identify successes and lessons learned, and to make program adjustments.
    • Develop new content for customized programs as needed. Marketing & Communications
    • Support recruitment of sponsors/individual participants in each city, identifying opportunities, and effectively engaging leadership programs alumni in the process.
    • Work with the marketing team in building press, blogger/influencer relationships and make HACE leadership programs a leading brand.
    • Assess event and speaking opportunities, attend relevant events/conferences to strengthen the leadership programs brand.

    Teamwork

    Collaborate with HACE staff, Board of Directors, HACE Young Professional Board members and the Leadership Programs Alumni Board in planning fundraising events and informational seminars.

      QUALIFICATIONS

      • Bachelor’s Degree in business, education, psychology, and/or related field; minimum of 5+ years of nonprofit management, program management, program curriculum delivery and development, leadership development, and professional/workforce development; experience in consulting, HR, talent recruitment/training, and/or DEI experience; strong preference for MBA/Master’s Degree.
      • Demonstrated leadership and vision in managing staff groups and major projects or initiatives.
      • Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative management style.
      • Program budget development and oversight experience.
      • Familiarity with CRM and/or Hubspot or willingness to learn.

        THE OPPORTUNITY

        The Vice President (VP), Development & Strategic Initiatives serves as a key leadership team member and an active participant in making strategic decisions affecting HACE. In partnership with the President & CEO, this position is responsible for all fundraising and development activities. The successful candidate will forge new relationships to build HACE’s visibility, impact, and financial resources. The VP will design and implement a comprehensive plan for developing key external alliances by cultivating individual, philanthropic and corporate support. This role reports directly to the President & CEO of HACE.

        The VP will have primary responsibility for establishing and implementing the infrastructure needed to grow a $4.39 million budget through solicitation of major gifts, federal and state grants, special events and corporate and foundation support.

        The successful candidate will expand and diversify HACE’s revenue, enhancing the donor base and pipeline, working closely with other team members to secure funding for new strategic initiatives. In addition, the VP will work closely with the board of directors and support board members as they take on a more active fundraising role.

        The position will be a part of the senior management team that drives the overall strategy for the organization and represents HACE on a local, regional, and national basis. With an operating budget of $4.39 million and a FT staff of 20, the VP will initially develop deep knowledge of each project, program operations, and business plan, and will focus on the following areas: development/fundraising strategic plan and execution, external relationships, and staff leadership.

        KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

        Fundraising & Development Strategy

        • Support and partner with the President & CEO and board members on all major fundraising initiatives.
        • Collaborate with the Chief Operating Officer (COO) to develop and implement HACE’s financial strategy, and annual budget planning.
        • Collaborate with HACE staff, Board of Directors, auxiliary board members and pertinent volunteers in planning fundraising events and information seminars.
        • Help to develop compelling marketing messages and campaigns to attract potential sponsors and participants to HACE related programs.
        • Oversee research funding sources and trends, with foresight, to help position HACE ahead of major funding changes or trends. Complete extensive and ongoing prospect research (online, databases, clearinghouses, professional literature, and donor prospecting directories) of current and prospective corporate and foundation partners to collect data and identify viable funding opportunities.
        • Forecast annual, quarterly, and monthly successful proposal grant submissions; reporting on funding partner renewal, acquisition, growth and increase in contributed revenues.
        • Complete all stages of funding proposal development including confirmation of project/program objectives, contact with the funding partner for clarification of guidelines, as well as development of letters of inquiry, online applications, and formal proposals with the appropriate organization approvals obtained.
        • Monitor and report regularly on the progress of the development program.

          Donor Relations and Cultivation

          • Create, implement, manage, and assess a comprehensive donor relations plan to support organization’s fundraising efforts.
          • Monitor all donor information, provide, and present statistical analysis to board and staff leadership.
          • Fosters a positive, ongoing relationship with donors and ensures a long-term relationship is forged by maintaining contact and proactively educating donors on outcomes and results of HACE’s efforts.
          • Designs and implements growth and retention strategies with existing donors and opportunities to forge new donor relationships.
          • Oversees development of and manages donor and fundraising events.
          • Provide guidance and oversight to the auxiliary boards and councils that support fundraising goals.

          Staff Leadership and Team Development

          • Identify, develop, coach, and retain high-performance team members, empowering them to elevate their level of responsibility, span of control, and performance.
          • Lead a team of 5-10 in the partnership team and others as designated.
          • Provide guidance and oversight to the auxiliary boards and councils that support fundraising goals.
          • Work with staff to develop systems to ensure consistent, high-quality project management.
          • Provide leadership in development of inter-team communication and cohesiveness, sustaining culture and supporting staff during organizational growth.
          • Work collaboratively with the senior management team to integrate cross program activities and functions.

          External Relationships & Visibility

          • Expand revenue generating and fundraising activities to support existing programs and the growth of HACE; cultivate existing relationships and develop new funder relationships.
          • Manage relationships with partner organizations.
          • Community awareness and understanding of the data and research behind the needs of the constituents being served.

          QUALIFICATIONS

          The Vice President, Development & Strategic Initiatives will be thoroughly committed to HACE’s strategy and mission. All candidates should have demonstrated leadership, coaching, and relationship management experience and strong demonstrated success managing funder relationships.

          Specific requirements include

          • Team Building and Development: The successful candidate will have recruited, managed, and developed a strong team of staff, development/account managers. This individual will serve as a “player/coach” to motivate and mentor his or her team.
          • Exceptional Communication and Influencing Skills: As a voice/advocate HACE, the VP will have strong written and verbal communication skills. She or he will be a persuasive, credible, and polished communicator with excellent interpersonal and multidisciplinary project skills. This individual must work collaboratively with internal as well as external partners and other organizations, providing exposure for program impact in a variety of professional journals and other media outlets. Ideally, this person will have served as an effective spokesperson at the national level.
          • Experienced Fundraiser: Strong demonstrated fundraising experience with the ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders including advisory groups, coalitions, forums, trade associations, foundations, corporate sponsors, and practitioner groups. Within 5-10 years demonstrated fundraising experience.
          • Advanced degree, with at least 10 years minimum of management experience in a nonprofit organization; demonstrated success in a development function (managing and forging relationships with multiple donor sources). Preference given to candidates who have received CFRE certification.
          • Proven ability to work effectively in collaboration with diverse groups of people.
          • Integrity, positive attitude, mission-driven, and self-directed with demonstrated passion for HACE’s mission and commitment to working collaboratively with a management team of senior professionals.
          • Solid judgment and strong organizational skills.
          • Flexible and adaptable style; a leader who can positively impact both strategic and tactical fundraising initiatives.

            Marketing & Communication Manager

            KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

            Marketing & Communications (25%)

            • Manage and update the HACE website and event registration content.
            • Collaborate with the design team to create engaging collateral for various events and campaigns.
            • Support other marketing team members in various initiatives as needed.

            Partnerships Marketing & Communications (30%)

            • Assist the Partnerships team in achieving goals related to engagement, retention, and expansion of partner relationships.
            • Execute marketing campaigns for specific deliverables, including Recruitment Events, Executive Leadership Tours, Branding initiatives, and the ERG Symposium.
            • Manage email communications to members and key stakeholders.
            • Work with the design team to develop collateral for programs and events.
            • Oversee all details for HACE events hosted by the Partnerships team, ensuring engaging copy, logistics, and successful execution.
            • Lead marketing campaigns across all communication channels—including social media, targeted marketing, and paid advertising—to drive membership to HACE’s Career Center and attendance at virtual career fairs.
            • Collaborate with the Partnerships team to develop strategies and goals for career center growth.

            • Stay informed about trends and timely conversations within the Hispanic/Latinx community.

            HACE Career Center (25%)

            • Spearhead marketing campaigns across various channels to increase membership in HACE’s Career Center and boost attendance at virtual career fairs.
            • Work closely with the Partnerships team to strategize and set goals for career center growth.
            • Actively promote job opportunities from HACE employer partners.
            • Keep up to date with trends and important conversations in the Hispanic/Latinx community.

            Event Support (20%)

            • Measure and analyze the effectiveness of posts and virtual events to set and achieve key performance indicators (KPIs) such as audience growth and engagement.
            • Attend HACE events to support social media engagement and visibility.
            • Assist with the annual National Leadership Summit & Gala.

            QUALIFICATIONS

            • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field (minimum).
            • 3+ years of experience in marketing and communications, employer branding, or related fields.
            • Exceptional writing, organizational, and graphic design skills.
            • Proven oven experience in building communication strategies and executing digital campaigns.
            • High proficiency in using popular virtual events and social media platforms, including Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Facebook, Twitter, TikTok, LinkedIn, YouTube, and Instagram.
            • Strong skills in various software and graphic design platforms, including WordPress, HubSpot, Canva, Photoshop, InDesign.

            This position will require some travel 10-20% of the time

              Director of Partnerships and Strategic Initiatives

              The Director of Strategic Initiatives & Partnerships will grow and strengthen HACE’s national network through oversight on program delivery, program enhancements and partnership development, and handling the day-to-day aspects of our Partnership Department.               KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
