Lizette Arias is a global financial ethics and compliance professional with more than 20 years of experience in the fields of business ethics, compliance programs, forensic investigations, and financial governance in both the public and private sectors. She helps organizations develop best-in-class corporate compliance & ethics programs, as well as mitigate and/or address financial fraud globally. She has held integral roles in remediation efforts helping two distinct public companies each addressing obligations of a Non-Prosecution Agreement (NPA) and a Deferred Prosecution Agreement (DPA) following investigations by the Department of Justice. She is determined to share her experience and provide insights to better prepare others for the unexpected. Lizette is currently serving as Treasurer on the Board of Directors for the Hispanic Alliance for Career Enhancement (HACE) and she is an Advisory Board member with Xavier University’s, Cintas Institute of Business Ethics. The institute provides opportunities for students, faculty and members of the community to learn more about ethics and how to recognize and deal with value-based issues in the workplace.
Lizette has also held roles in this capacity at GE Aviation, General Cable, Johnson Controls, Emerson Electric, Sierra Forensic Group, PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), and Deloitte.
Lizette is a graduate of DePaul University (Accounting) and The University of Notre Dame (MBA). She is a Certified International Ethics and Compliance Professional (CCEP-International), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), and a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE). She completed an Ethics & Compliance Management Certificate Program at St. Louis University and an International Business Ethics & Compliance Certification Program while abroad in London and France where she had the opportunity to learn of LOREAL’S and BP’s (British Petroleum) ethics and compliance programs first hand. Her hometown is Chicago, although she currently resides in the Cincinnati area with her husband Tim and their son Samuel.
