Director of Marketing and Communications
Vanessa Valentin is a brilliant narrator and the Director of Marketing and Communications at the Hispanic Alliance for Career Enhancement where she focuses on strengthening and expanding the organization’s mission and brand by sharing the stories of its members. As a former educator and reporter, in Chicago’s Back of the Yards neighborhood, where she grew up, she told the stories of educators, politicians, and community leaders. There she was given an opportunity to manage the marketing efforts of The Gate newspaper and transitioned her career from journalistic storytelling to marketing storytelling.
Vanessa is a boomerang to HACE, where she was once the Strategic Partnership Manager. She also led marketing efforts at the Women’s Business Development Center and BMO Harris Financial. Vanessa has focused most of her career supporting the professional development of students and professionals and has been recognized as a Latina Brava by Latino Magazine in 2017 for her commitment to advancing Latinas through mentorship.
Her overall passion lies in empowerment – by providing individuals with the insight and access to resources that will equip them with the skills needed in their personal lives, as well as in their careers.
