I am the second oldest of four children in my family and the first one to attend college. Growing up, I rarely would see Hispanic professional. HACE has many Hispanic professionals that are opened to help and guide students like me. I joined HACE my second year at the University of Illinois at Chicago and I will be graduating in May of 2016. HACE has provided me with the tools to advance in the career field by providing workshops for career development. HACE has had an important impact on my life by providing community, connections, and opportunities. As a way to give back to my community, HACE provided me with an internship opportunity as an El Futuro Coordinator. I taught students at Schurz High School on career development and serve as a positive role model for students to attend college. I am forever grateful that HACE has provided me with the tools that I will need to have a successful career and for letting me give back to my community.
