HACE announces official partnership to provide Hispanic high school students college scholarships

Chicago, IL (October 30, 2019) The Hispanic Alliance for Career Enhancement (HACE) and McDonald’s are proud to announce that they are joining forces in support of Hispanic high school students via the McDonald’s HACER® National Scholarship.

 The McDonald’s HACER® National Scholarship is part of the brand’s commitment to education, helping Hispanic students reach their full potential while alleviating the stress of higher education costs. This year, McDonald’s has chosen HACE to join its network of education partners to help lead the execution and implementation of the scholarship. For the upcoming 2020-2021 academic year, HACE will assist in distributing up to $100,000 for 30 high school students across the nation.

“McDonald’s is committed to paving the way to higher education for Hispanics alongside organizations like HACE, Cool speak, and USHLI, who share our mission in helping young Latinos reach their education goals. We are excited to have HACE join our network of education partners to elevate our efforts in and support of the Hispanic community,” said Elizabeth Campbell, Head of Cultural Engagement & Experiences, McDonald’s USA.

Since 1982, HACE has been committed to the development and betterment of Latino students. With this partnership, HACE will be able to impact the lives of more Latino students across the country, continuing to alleviate the education gap with Latino students and provide more opportunities for educational attainment within the Latino community.

“With this partnership, not only will selected Latinx/a/o students continue to receive the financial support to complete their college education, they will also have the opportunity to learn about HACE’s resources, such as incredible internship, leadership programs, and job opportunities, said Patricia Mota, HACE President & CEO.

Through this new alliance,

  • HACE becomes the official fiscal agency for the funds of the program and will be awarding the scholarship to the schools of selected students;
  • HACE will provide access to its network of resources to more Hispanic students around the country
  • HACE will assist in the selection of students to be awarded for the 2020-2021 school year

The McDonald’s HACER National Scholarship is now accepting applications through February 5, 2020. Interested parents, students and counselors are encouraged to visit mcdonalds.com/HACER for more information and to apply.
