Program Manager

A passionate youth and community advocate, Isael is the proud son of Mexican immigrants. From a young age, Isael has been dedicated to uplifting Latino BIPOC communities into leadership spaces & opportunities. Having served several leadership roles within higher education & university student affairs, as well as local advocacy organizations, Isael has learned and advocates for the strengths-based value of approaching leadership with the authenticity and perspective that being a first-generation student and professional uniquely allows many Latino professionals to thrive. Grateful for the guidance and mentorship he has received in his own journey, Isael has had many unique opportunities, including an opportunity to serve within the Obama White House, as well as being invited to proudly advocate for community and education equity on several stages, including TEDxSaltLakeCity.

Beyond professional and leadership advocacy, Isael is passionate about art and community wellbeing as it relates to historically marginalized and underrepresented communities. Recognizing that Latinidad is vast and varied spectrum across the U.S., Isael is eager to learn and support how our Latino communities draw from culture and identity to build and strengthen relationships, partnerships and presence in our evolving leadership roles & expectations for current and future Latino professional leaders.

Isael earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Work from Utah State University and received his Master’s of Education in Education, Culture and Society (ECS) from the University of Utah
