Managing Director of Field Services Delivery for United Airlines
Sylvia Gomez is the managing director of Field Services Delivery for United Airlines. In this role, Sylvia is responsible for maintaining the critical infrastructure of United’s airports and corporate centers worldwide, leads Ground Radio engineering, supply chain operations, IT Service Desk support, global deployment of large-scale programs, end-user strategy and employee communications.
Sylvia previously served in information technology at United where she worked in various technology leadership roles for over 15 years. She also held roles in finance, revenue management and distribution at United.
Sylvia is the president of UNITE, United’s multicultural business resource group, co-leads a Women in Technology group, runs Digital Technology’s people-centric initiatives and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion actions; served on the board of directors of United’s Management Association. She is an advocate for diversity in the workplace, fostering an inclusive culture and is passionate about helping others succeed. She loves traveling and is an avid reader.
Sylvia holds a bachelor’s degree in industrial psychology from the University of Illinois at Chicago and a master’s degree in Business Administration with a finance concentration from Elmhurst University. She is married and has two sons.
