Tanya M. Amezquita (Muñiz) brings extensive leadership experience in operations, finance, and strategic planning for nationally recognized nonprofit organizations. Throughout her career, she has been instrumental in positioning organizations to drive bold strategic plans that create lasting community impact. Tanya has built a strong reputation for advancing innovation, fostering financial transparency, and ensuring fiscal responsibility.
With hands-on experience leading economic and infrastructure initiatives, Tanya has overseen fundraising strategies, endowment campaigns, human resources, DEI efforts, legal affairs, facilities, IT, and data analytics. She takes great pride in leading teams to success and cultivating a culture of trust, collaboration, and excellence.
Previously, Tanya served as Chief Financial and Operating Officer at Valley of the Sun United Way, where she held leadership roles within the organization and the broader United Way network for 25 years. Nationally, she contributed to the United Way Worldwide Financial Issues Committee and Diversity & Inclusion Council, championing efforts to leverage Latino and Hispanic diversity to build more inclusive economies.
Tanya currently serves as Board Chair of the Arizona Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and has held prior board roles with Friendly House, Arizona Grantmakers Forum, and the Phoenix Community ToolBank.
Her leadership has been recognized with numerous honors, including the Phoenix Business Journal’s Outstanding CFO and 40 Under 40 awards, Valle del Sol’s Profiles of Success Exemplary Leadership Award, and the Phoenix Chamber ATHENA Finalist recognition.
A proud Aggie, Tanya earned her degree in Accounting from New Mexico State University. She is a newlywed and spends her home time in both her hometown of Las Cruces, NM and Phoenix, AZ. She and her husband, Patrick, share five children and four grandkids. Tanya enjoys traveling and always enjoys spending time with family.
